First thing to note is that this is not a World War Two building, it was actually constructed in 1898. Still prominent on coast line this structure is a reminder of the importance Shoeburyness Old Ranges and Garrison played for over 100 years in the testing and evaluation of weapons and the training of the military. Today the Heavy Quick Fire Gun Battery is one of the few remaining buildings in the Old Ranges, now Gunners Park, and worth a look if you are interested in military history or architecture.
