- J Watkins Review added: 2018.11.22★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I took my car in for a full service and asked if he could check out a couple of niggling problems. I was given a list of problems. In particular I was told my starting problem was caused by a faulty chip on my ignition key and needed replacing (he could get it done for £100). Luckily I know someone who could replace the key for less......Guess what, It did not solve the erratic starting problem. I consequently gave both keys to my friend who works at Renault for testing......both where tested and both showed no sign of fault. Having spent £150.00 on the full service and £50.00 on a replacement key that was not needed, I have to ask did I get what I paid for?
I will keep you posted as soon as my friend (a Renault mechanic) finds the time to look at the work carried out.
